Do It Yourself SEO Tools

If you're a small busines owner and you've done any research in to the art and science of Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, you know that there is a lot of misinformation out there, and that the task of optimizing your website can be overwhelming (to the point that it paralyzes many small business owners and they end up doing nothing!).
What the beck is SEO?
While I offer search engine optimization services for small businesses, we also realize that small business owners, by their very nature, are "do-it-yourself" types. So I compiled the tools on this page to assist you in optimizing your own website.

Here's a little secret - Search Engine Optimization boils down to three things (plus two!):
  1. Keyword Research - You can't optimize your website for certain keyword phrases if you don't know what those key phrases are!
  2. Content Development - You must have the right keywords in the right places on your website in order to make it "search engine friendly".
  3. Link Building - If keywords and content was all it took, SEO would be an easy task! What other websites say about your site (in the form of links) is one of the most critical (and often overlooked) components of SEO.
  4. Local Listings - Listings in places like Google Maps, Internet Yellow Pages, 411 Directories, and GPS Navigation Systems are a powerful marketing tool, but must be managed and updated separately from your website.
  5. Pay Per Click - While technically not an "SEO thing", Pay Per Click advertising on Google Adwords can be a great way to drive traffic to your website instantly, while waiting for those long term SEO benefits to kick in.
With that in mind, I compiled the following resources to assist you in doing your own Search Engine Optimization. Some of them even have free trial periods and a money-back guarantee, so you have nothing to lose and a lot to gain! I have used these tools myself and feel they are worth every penny.
